Why we love it
The story of Halcyon House is a tale of family, innovation and premier Australian design. When sisters Siobhan and Elisha Bickle purchased the former surfing motel (The Hideaway) in 2011, they had the intention of creating a refuge to house their families on holidays. It wasn’t long before the sisters decided to alter their holiday plans, allowing others to share the experience of their beachside treasure.
Food
The dining experience at award winning hatted restaurant Paper Daisy is a celebration of our unique part of the world. With Jason Barratt leading the kitchen, the ethos that drives Paper Daisy is one of sophisticated simplicity, producing dishes that are satisfying, thoughtful and deeply memorable.
With its unique beachside location and overlooking Halcyon House’s idyllic pool, Paper Daisy is the perfect destination for intimate celebrations. For groups of 8-12 people, a special shared set menu has been designed to ensure you get the most out of your Paper Daisy experience.

Awaken your senses and reconnect to the environment by exploring Cabarita Beach and our surrounding region. Whilst staying at Halcyon House, we highly recommend taking the short coastal walk from Cabarita Beach around to Norries Headland. The scenery changes as you walk through a tunnel of remnant coastal rainforest, down along the popular surfing pointbreaks.

Our favourite is combining the morning yoga, followed by a massage at Halcyon Spa, then relaxing whilst we enjoy Halcyon Houses’ signature beach picnic.

A scenic two hour drive from Brisbane
15 minutes south of Gold Coast Airport with Qantas, Virgin Australia and Jetstar flying daily,
30 minutes north from Byron Bay.
